David Horovitz, MD is a longtime Southern California urologist who diagnoses and treats conditions of the prostate, urethra, kidneys, bladder, and male reproductive organs. Knowledgeable about prostate issues such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, he also removes kidney stones and addresses cancers of the urinary system. David Horovitz, MD, also handles patient conditions related to infertility and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Horovitz employs advanced techniques such as robotic surgery and laparoscopy, which enhance precision and enable minimally invasive approaches. He has been a partner of the San Joaquin Valley Surgical Center and is co-president and co-founder of the Bakersfield Institute of Advanced Urology. Dr. Horovitz’ hospital privileges include Mercy Hospital Truxton, Mercy Hospital Southwest, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, and Adventist Health Hospital.
David Horovitz, MD, earned his doctor of medicine at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) where he was Co-President of the UWO Surgery Interest Group. His advanced training includes a two-year fellowship completed at the University of Rochester Medical Center in minimally invasive surgery and endourology where he published, among other things, “Extraperitoneal vs. Transperitoneal Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy in the Setting of Prior Abdominal or Pelvic Surgery” J Endourol. 2017 Apr;31(4):366-373
